Visit the Kavalur observatory campus on a published public Saturday and ask about weather-dependent visitor-telescope observing.
Observatory or telescope on site
The public page describes the 2.3-metre Vainu Bappu Telescope, projected solar images and spectra, and weather-dependent observing through 5-inch/6-inch telescopes and 25×100 binoculars. Its visitor centre and museum are listed as upcoming.
Research telescopes and working areas require the operator’s explicit visitor arrangements. A campus or visitor-center visit does not establish eyepiece access to research instruments.
