Access
Camping requires a Recreation.gov reservation. The campground operates seasonally until the first significant snowfall, and the upper scenic drive is closed to single vehicles or trailers longer than 24 feet.
Seasonal access
The upper nine miles of Wheeler Peak Scenic Drive are generally open June through October, weather permitting. The campground can close as early as September when winter weather arrives.
