Using Stella
Stella is a night-sky planning, education, and travel-support tool. You are responsible for how you use the app, where you travel, and whether conditions are safe enough to observe, drive, camp, or use equipment.
Forecasts, sky conditions, route context, dark-sky rankings, telescope guidance, object suggestions, and availability details are estimates. Always check current local conditions, official closures, weather alerts, land access rules, and equipment safety guidance before relying on a plan.
Accounts and Eligibility
- You may use many Stella features without an account. Account features require accurate sign-in information and may use Sign in with Apple or other supported providers.
- You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your device and credentials secure.
- Stella is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13.
Subscriptions and Purchases
Stella may offer free, Pro, Ultra, lifetime, trial, or promotional access. In-app purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple's payment, renewal, cancellation, and refund rules.
- Subscription pricing, duration, renewal terms, and trial terms are shown before purchase.
- Restore Purchases is available in the app for supported Apple purchases.
- You can manage or cancel Apple subscriptions from your Apple ID subscription settings.
- Web checkout flows, where available, use their own checkout and account-management paths.
User Content and Community Features
You are responsible for content you submit, including reviews, site reports, photos, readings, comments, public profiles, host details, and destination updates. Do not submit illegal, harmful, misleading, infringing, private, or abusive content.
Stella may moderate, remove, restrict, or preserve content when needed for safety, legal compliance, support, abuse prevention, or product integrity.
Location, Weather, Health, and Safety
Stella is not an emergency, medical, aviation, navigation, financial, or professional safety service. Health-readiness signals are optional planning context and are not medical advice. Weather, darkness, air quality, satellite, aurora, eclipse, route, and destination data can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong.
You should use official sources and local judgment before traveling, observing, driving, camping, using telescope equipment, viewing the Sun, or relying on remote sites.
Third-Party Services and Links
Stella may link to booking partners, maps, public-data providers, payment services, music services, or astronomy tools. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Stella is not responsible for third-party availability, prices, listings, policies, or content.
Stella may earn a commission when you book through some links, at no extra cost to you.
Intellectual Property
Stella, the Stella name, app design, website, software, text, artwork, compilation, and original content are owned by Stella or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, scrape, resell, or use Stella in a way that harms the service or violates applicable law.
Availability and Changes
Stella may change, suspend, or discontinue features, data sources, plans, prices, or availability. We try to keep the service reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access or error-free results.
