What to expect

Visit the working Izaña research campus to learn how astronomers study the Sun. The guided daytime route includes an astrophysics workshop and a look inside a nighttime telescope dome.

  • Observatory or telescope on site
  • School or youth programs

The guide sets up a portable solar telescope for daytime viewing when conditions permit. The tour can show the interior of a nighttime instrument, with no public operation of the research telescopes included.

Research telescopes and working areas require the operator’s explicit visitor arrangements. A campus or visitor-center visit does not establish eyepiece access to research instruments.
